Lumen vuurtorenweg
Hekker handled the interior and finishing of the public spaces in the new Lumen Living apartment complex on Vuurtorenweg in Scheveningen, commissioned by Kondor Wessels Vastgoed. The complex is located near the sea. At the entrance, a unique mailbox unit catches the eye, which also serves as a planter.
The ceiling slats and the balustrade of the central staircase are made from Fraké wood. This type of wood is thermally treated, so no chemicals are needed, making it a sustainable choice. Its natural grain also gives the interior a warm and rich look. The walls have a sand-colored Beton Ciré finish, reflecting the coastal surroundings.
Because of its location by the beach, the complex includes a special storage area for surfboards, with custom-made lockers and cabinets.
